Hey, I'm Chelsey
and I have a love for performing.
After graduating with high honours from Sheridan College - Music Theatre Performance Program, I have enjoyed a thriving career in both Canada and America.
The highlights include premiering at Theatre Calgary in Nicholas Lloyd Webber and James D. Reid’s production of The Little Prince. And, performing the role of Glinda in both Mirvish Productions Toronto premiere and 1st National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz where I worked closely with London’s West End director Jeremy Sams and choreographer, Arlene Philips. The production was nominated for nine Dora Mavor Moore Awards. A more recent credit, in the UK press, chronicled a positive citation for my work on An Evening with Sir Tim Rice in partnership with Belinda King Casting for Seabourn.
For me, musical theatre is about the audience. Yes, an audience wants to be entertained expecting high-quality, professional performances, but for me, I want to take that further. I respond to the role intuitively and aim for an original, nuanced performance.
Musical theatre has the ability to lift the spirit, strike with joy and sorrow; give pure delight, and resonate with the experiences of the audiences who attend.
If I can do that, it is all worth it.
